Christmas is Over....Bring on the New Year!

Hi guys!  The Christmas season is crazy busy in our family, lasting for days.  We were blessed to be able to give gifts, and very blessed to receive gifts as well.  Our families try so hard to make everyone happy at Christmas with presents and I try so hard to humble myself...knowing that I am very fortunate to receive what I receive.  On Christmas day, my step-brother-in-law (got that?) told of a true story that broke my heart.  He saw a little boy at the store eye-balling ice cream at the same time as he was, and they broke into conversation over the ice cream.  This little boy wasn't the cleanest, nor did he have the nicest of clothes.  He went on to tell my step-brother-in-law of how he was so excited this Christmas because he had two presents under the tree.  2, two, TWO presents under the tree...and he was so excited about it!  There are so many that are less fortunate than us and I think we take for granted what we do have.....always wanting more..or better.  I have thought about that story every day since it was told to me on Christmas day (yes I know that was just a few days ago), and I am reminded of how God has blessed my family and me.  I am so thankful of the material things we receive.  I am even more thankful for my amazing family and wonderful friends...those that I get to spend special moments with...like Christmas!  How did you spend your Christmas?

Graduation

Good Morning!  Last Saturday, my husband graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology.  I am so proud of him and how hard he worked to get here!  The night before, we went to a casual celebration at the university and this is what I wore.

On a side note...I can't believe our Christmas activities begin this weekend!  We have very large families and Christmas celebrations usually last 3 or 4 days.  I will finish up some stockings tomorrow and start shopping for food.  What are your Christmas plans?

Christmas Party #4

Good Morning!  This is my final post for my Christmas Party Series.  I attended my husband's work Christmas party in this ensemble and got the most compliments!  I actually borrowed this dress from one of my best friends...thanks Rachael!  I hate that the days are so short now...making my picture-taking opportunities slim!  So yes, there are pictures of me in the car...I think they turned out better than the ones outside.

Christmas Party #3

Hello loves!  This is Part III of my Christmas Party Style Series.  This was not a traditional look, and definitely wasn't my first choice for one of my favorite Christmas parties of the year.  I had two completely different outfits originally planned for Christmas Party 3 and 4 than what I wore.  That being said, when I put this romper on with leggings for the first time, I almost died from love!  After arriving at the Christmas party, I kind of felt like I should have gone with my original choice, but then I quickly dismissed it and embraced my colorful, non-traditional Christmas attire!  Have you ever worn non-traditional Christmas attire to a Christmas party (like bright colors, etc.)?

Romper: My husband ordered this during the summer for me....I will work on getting more details and/or finding something similar

Christmas Party #2

Hello loves!  I hope your holiday parties are going fantastically!  This is part II of my Christmas Party Series.  Here I am before our Christmas party at work.  I am responsible for making sure everything was set up for the party, so I had to wear something comfortable...and of course...cute!  This ended up being one of my favorites because I was warm, comfy, and still very holiday-ish.  How do you incorporate comfort into your holiday wear?
